Tips of getting your car done there smoothly.
1. Go early, as early as possible.. 8.30am is their opening time.
2. Be cool, yes you might lost it especially all the problems you facing before kept coming up and seems like no one care or no one can solved it.. still be cool..
3. Talk to the right person, dont bark at the wrong tree.
4. Make sure you clarify your problems with as much details as possible as it will be much more easier and faster for them to check n detect fault. Eg. when does it happen? how does it happen? what kind of symptom
s and cause that you think it might contribute to the fault (modification)? etc etc.
5. Be patients.

The best is if you can talk with Mr.Hin personally and he will be more than happy to help you, to bless your car. Just a piece of advise tho, dont try to act smart, dont lose your coolness, be humble and surely enough you wont had any problems communicate with him.. and when both of you in in the right track i am sure all your problems will be solve. Let him do his thing, let him bless your car.. and you will enjoy it for the rest of your life.

Those who met Mr.Hin and actually spoken with him before will know what i meant..
so good luck :)

150 Years of the Lion - 20 Nov 2008-

150 Years of the Lion

Today, PEUGEOT vehicles are distributed in more than 150 countries and are universally recognised by their Lion emblem. It was on 20 November 1858 that Emile PEUGEOT first registered the use of a Lion with or without an arrow as the brand’s emblem.

The origin of the Lion
Jules and Emile PEUGEOT, who founded the company Peugeot Frères, asked Julien BLAZER, a goldsmith and engraver in the Franche-Comté region of France, to produce this logo for identifying all PEUGEOT products. The Lion emblem then quickly found its place on saws and laminated edge tools; this animal was chosen for its easy comparison with PEUGEOT saws, as they were then - and still are - famous for:
- strong teeth like those of the lion.
- suppleness of the blade like the lion’s spine.
- swiftness of cut like the swiftness of a bounding lion
Over time the appearance of the Lion has, however, evolved; from a majestic profile walking on an arrow to the start of it beginning to face to the left. Today it is more commonly found without the arrow or more rarely facing to the right.
In 1882 the top of the lion’s mane was changed and the body given more substance. Having quickly become Peugeot’s sole registered mark, the Lion could be found not only on tools and saw blades, but also on coffee grinders in 1881 (the production of which began in 1840), on bicycles from 1882 and, from 1898, on motorcycles.

The Lion becomes a part of automotive history
Although the first production car (type 3) built by Armand PEUGEOT dates from 1891, it was only in 1906 that production cars were first decorated with the “Lion walking on an arrow” emblem. Therefore, the Lion has accompanied one of the first three car manufacturers in the world from its very beginnings. In 1910, the two entities (PEUGEOT Frères and Armand PEUGEOT) merged to become La Sté des automobiles et cycles PEUGEOT; the two product ranges, however, co-existed until the First World War and the last car from this period to display the Lion was, the BéBé Lion (designed by Ettore Bugatti), presented at the Paris Motor Show in October 1912.

Subsequent models made do with old-style lettering on the top of the radiator grille contained inside a double «ellipse», combined in some instances with lettering on the radiator either unaccompanied or in a coat of arms (from the 201). In the 1920s the Lion became a rallying call for “Peugeotistes” who used it as a decoration on their radiator caps. Two types of radiator Lions were distributed in the network, a roaring version by the sculptor Marx and one ready to pounce by Baudichon.

For their part, bicycles and motorcycles first used the Lion walking on an arrow emblem set against the background of a spoked wheel; later a fighting Lion facing to the right was introduced in the 1920s, and lastly the same design but with upright lettering in 1960. Tools and domestic appliances opted for the Lion walking on an arrow in a coat of arms or on an oval plaque for coffee grinders.

The Lion leaps once and for all onto the front of Peugeot cars
From October 1933, with the launch of the «aerodynamic» range of vehicles 201, 301, 601 with the first six cylinder engine, a Lion’s head appeared on the top of the radiator grille for the first time. The 401 arrived in October 1934 at the Paris Motor Show. The idea was used again with a tapered head on the 402 (1935) then the 302 a year later and 202 in 1938. In 1948 the 203 adopted as its figurehead a Lion on the bonnet in a more prominent style A new Lion was also used on the bonnet of the 403 which was first shown in 1955 and went on to pass the symbolic threshold of 1 million vehicles. These two designs were, however, deemed too dangerous in the event of a collision and disappeared in September 1958.

The Lion adopts its heraldic pose!
The launch of the 203 marked the first appearance of the heraldic Lion of Franche-Comté and the Duchy of Montbéliard. It was attached to the boot lid until October 1952 and migrated to the front of the bonnet from September 1958 until the end of the series in February 1960. During this period the heraldic Lion also appeared on PEUGEOT motorcycles. The same Lion was placed in a small coat of arms in the centre of the radiator grille on 403s from April 1955 to 1966 before being replaced by a larger version, first featured in May 1960 on the 404, which had the Pininfarina signature. In the 1960s all models adopted this format. It was replaced by a Lion (gilt or chrome-plated) leaping from its background, which first appeared in September 1968 on the 504, then was adopted by the 404, 204, 304 and 104. Another generation, the Lion «in outline» appeared on the 604 marketed in September 1975, and then extended to the 305 (November 1977) and 505 (May 1979) before being presented on a black background in 1982 on the 205, through to 1993 on the 306.

The Lion successfully makes its mark
At its launch in October 1995, the 406 stood out with its large Lion emblem which rapidly migrated across the entire generation of «6» models. This led in 1998 to the Lion of today, with its stylised, angular appearance that decorates the front and rear of PEUGEOT cars and scooters. In 2000 the Adventure Peugeot association, evoking its mission to protect the company’s heritage, placed the Lion in a coat of arms bordered by a yellow frame and filled with blue, which in bygone years identified the company. Peugeot Sport and the concept cars which have come out of the Design Centre, have also used the profile of the lion on the 403 to highlight the dynamism and stylish looks of the cars they produce. The renown of the Lion is, therefore, now universal and its image remains closely associated with the name PEUGEOT.

PEUGEOT LOGO - THE LION AND ITS HISTORY

The first trademark symbols for the PEUGEOT FRERES products were designed by Justin Blazer, a jeweler and engraver based in Montbéliard. In a letter written in 1847, an appeal was made to the "good taste" of the artist to create the best possible layout of the letters and ensure the longevity of the trademarks. They included an arrow that can be seen under the paws of the Lion, created in 1850.

The company filed three designs to distinguish between the different qualities in which its tools were available:

-A lion, with or without an arrow, for top of the range products

-A crescent moon for second category products

-A hand for third quality.

In 1932, the Lion graphic was modified to suit the advertising and exhibition needs of the time.

VARIATIONS:
Initially the new Cycle and Automobile companies continued to use the lion standing on an arrow. But, in order to personalize their trademarks, the different companies adopted individual graphics:

-The CYCLE company used a Lion in combat

-The AUTOMOBILE company used the famous shield-shaped badge, featuring the LION'S head, followed by the LION seen on the Arms of FRANCHE-COMTÉ, which also appear on the arms of the COMTE de MONTBELIARD.
-The most recent heraldic Lion was designed in 1998.

Car Care Tip 2

Another tips is how to maintain your wiper so that it last longer and performs better. All you need is a very simple thing either a clean cloth or few pieces of tissue papers.

Hold the wiper in the middle and grab it together so that its not loose.

Use the cloth or tissue papers and wipe it hard in up down motion.

You will notice it is very dirty. The wiper gets dirty easily so it is best to clean it whenever possible and not just wait untill you decided to wash the car. The method is simple and doesnt require water or detergent and can be done at any place. Of course it is better to used detergent and water for best result.

Car Care Tip 1

Looks dirty n ugly

Had you ever had the feeling that everytime after you washes your car and all is shinny then you notice the plastic part (the black colour) lining on the roof is so ugly... and no matter how you wash it and when it dry it still lookes dirty?

Well no more, i got a tips for you on how to easily clean it and maintain it in a tip top conditions.

All you needed is 1 piece of scour pad ( those green pan sponge ) cut it in smaller size, best is same size as the plastic lining, 1 black KIWI show polish and 1 old cloth.

Watermark that cant be clean of just by normal washing

First use the scour pad to scrub off all the watermark, dust etc. with some water make sure it is evenly scrub and also most importantly not to scrub on your car paintwork!

Next use the old cloth and the KIWI shoe polish, give it a good amout of it.. dont be stingy.

Lastly slowly n gently apply it on the plastic part, you might need to redo a couple of time to make it all evenly dark/black.

The final result, it looks clean and new. I could had do a better job on it hehe but since i havent wash my car yet so i just do a little demo for the blog

Peugeot 308 GT Test Drive, The 206 New Family Members.

Last Saturday Andy and I (Eugene) were at BlueBox Glenmarie to get our 206 some check up. But to our surprise, we were offered to test drive the 308 GT which was the crown car there; Andy got so excited that he looked/acted like a small kid jumping up and down, OK, maybe not that far, hehe. But the service manager said that he is too short for the car, LoL~ and suspect he might stall the engine due to the "long" clutch. Luckily, he didn't do stall the car, haha, else the video would be funny.
If those who went to the 407 test drive before they will know that you only can touch and sit inside the 308GT ONLY... but now we had actually 'been there, done that'. It's just so nice and unbelievable experience, and we're so thankful to the person who offered us the test drive; and it's quite lucky that Andy requested me to bring my video camera because we were also planning to do some "Top Secret Movie Project", OK, I was just exaggerating, we're actually planning to shoot some video for the "Air Filter" upgrade article.

As I am kinda more into automatic transmission car, so I didnt actually drove the car myself. I leave it to Andy to give his reviews on this car as a manual transmisson *cought* *cough* "GTi" driver/owner.

For my part you can check it out on my own blog. NO ?DEA

Andy, I pass to you.... catch!

Andy: Ok, thank you so much Eugene for such nice video editing and the person who offered the Test Drive; Very very grateful, really~ Thank you so much!

First of all, as usual, in a test drive, I would first like to apologize for causing "fear/scary" moments; Hope you guys still can take it; I really didn't "overdo" or "drive without anticipation", as you can see from the video itself too, I didn't go full on the corners, and for the famous "corner of death" from Eugene 407 Test Drive video, you can actually see I downshift very early and didn't enter very fast, and for those 2 way road/corner, you can see I don't drive onto oncoming car lane, and I only fully throttle when I got a better view of the road.
The scary/dangerous part to know is; Actually, it was my first time driving on the "corner of death" and also the other corners (where in the video you can hear someone saying the Porshe Cayman crashed). I knew about the corner is from the tyre shop guy who drove me there when he was checking my alignment issues, but I never driven there before nor actually remember the road inside.
So hope the news above doesn't scare those in the car...

Next, let's talk about the car; As mentioned by Eugene, I was told I'm short and not suit to drive the car >.<, also, was told that I might stall the car (due to the "long" clutch)
Luckily, the "long" clutch issue is the same with my 206 GTi, so, I have no problems with it; in fact, it is better than my 206 GTi, and the gear throw was shorter and just nice and much smoother; Love it~
I also love the way it engage to "Reverse" gear and also the "behaviour" of the car before and after you engage into "Reverse" gear =)

Due to the "long" clutch, many people might have trouble getting smooth gear change and "fast" response; If you press the clutch fully during gear change, you would have "jerks" or "pull" when you let off the clutch after engaging the next gear, which will result to "loss" or power. It will be most obvious if you're "sprinting".
If it is done correctly, you can get smooth gear change and smooth acceleration.
Another way is by installing "Clutch Stopper"; but I heard from the Service Manager that the clutch can be "adjusted". Cool!
By the way, sorry for those inside the car feeling uncomfortable during those "poor" shifting moments, especially during 1st and 2nd gear.

Oh, by the way, the brake and gas pedal are quite far apart, so I'm having some problem with heel-toe downshift; or maybe it could simply because my foot is not long enough? LoL, but I have no such problems with the 206 GTi.

In regards to power of this car; It's superb! And the engine is so much quieter compared to my GTi; You can easily OVER-REV this car, as you can see in the video below, I actually OVER-REV few times without noticing it; the RPM goes up way fast and the engine is still so quiet. So sorry for doing the "damages" >.<

There's one part I mentioned about "Blow-Off" which I heard, I don't remember this car having blow-off valve but somehow I heard it that time; When talk to someone in Nasim, he said it was actually not a blow-off valve, so I have no idea where the sound came from~ But it's really nice to hear~

Next, we talk about handling of this car; Despite being a Sports car, the suspension setup is very comfortable and absorbs bump well unlike my GTi which you can feel every bump pretty bad. Anyway, here's a good news for 206 owners (I think); I feel the 206 actually handles better! I didn't know it until after this test drive, I took my 206 GTi for a spin with the same route (my 1st time with 206 GTi on that route too), and actually felt more confident and felt it handles better~
I don't know, maybe the 308 GT was higher? Or maybe the tyre pressure was too high? Or maybe I'm not used to the car yet? (Actually, I didn't really had a chance to sit "properly" yet, too excited!)
Hmm... but anyhow, it's a happy news for 206 owners "lah", hehe~
But that day was also another day which the 206 amazes me "once" again with it's handling~

Ok, I know, I talk too much, hehe, anyway, all I can say is, the car is totally superb! And once again, I would like to say a million thanks for the Test Drive offer, plus, the petrol; We're really really grateful for the offer and I hope the passengers are also "erm" having a great time despite the "thrilling" moments.
Enjoy the video below~
